Neal and Kim Surasky

Neal grew up in a traditional Jewish home. He first heard about the Messiah during his senior year in high school, but it was not until years later he accepted Yeshua (Jesus) into his life. Kim was raised in a mixed Jewish—Christian home. She experienced many religious expressions from an early age, including Catholicism, Judaism, and evangelical Christianity. However, as it was with Neal, it would be years later when she gave her life to Yeshua.

The two met and fell in love at the end of Neal’s tour of duty in the US Army. While planning their wedding, they both discovered Messianic Judaism and began their walk with the Lord together. They were baptized the week before their marriage.

Neal and Kim joined the staff of Chosen People Ministries in 2006. Neal was promoted to Washington, DC, Branch Director in 2010. The same year, Kim was appointed to a position on the ministry’s Leadership Advisory Team. Neal earned a Master of Divinity in Messianic Jewish Studies degree from the Charles L. Feinberg Center/Talbot Theological Seminary in 2017 and finished the coursework with the highest honors. Kim continues working toward a degree in biblical theology with cultural engagement at Moody Bible Institute.

They serve together at Kehilat Sar Shalom, the Congregation of the Prince of Peace, in Leesburg, VA. Neal has served as the congregation’s rabbi since 2007, and Kim is the worship director and leader of the women’s ministries. Most recently, Neal earned an Executive Certificate in Bible Exposition, marking the halfway point in his Ph.D. program in Bible exposition. He plans on graduating in 2026. Neal accepted a promotion to Director of Publications in 2018. He is a repeat guest on the Our Hope Podcast and co-author of Lord of All: Embracing Unity & Eternity Through Jesus Christ. Neal also currently lectures at the Feinberg Center and is one of the teachers for the Chosen People Bible Institute.

Neal and Kim have five children (Holly, Bethany, Aaron, Michael, and Mark) and eighteen grandchildren. They live in Columbia, Maryland, a Baltimore and Washington, DC suburb. Together, they have ministered all over the country and in Israel.
